Experimental Study on Phosphogypsum-Amended Red Mud as Road Base Material

چکیده

Red mud is a byproduct of the aluminum oxide refining process that an industrial waste residue. The storage red can seriously contaminate soil, water system, and atmosphere while also taking up lot valuable land resources. However, use stabilized/amended technology in road engineering relatively limited. Consequently, this research investigates how additives (cement, lime, phosphogypsum) affect strength amended as base material. Additionally, it examines effects dry–wet freeze–thaw cycles on UCS, pH, dry density, evolution micropore structure with different phosphogypsum content. findings reveal that, after five cycles, samples 2% content have strong assurance rate more than 85%. percentage micropores (0.01–0.1 μm) reduced, although small pores (0.1–1 medium (1–10 increased by cycles. cumulative mercury intake rises increases, cycle has greater impact cycle.

Fly Ash Amended Soils as Highway Base Materials

Class F fly ash cannot be used alone in soil stabilization applications as it is not selfcementing. An activator such as Portland cement or lime must be added to produce cementitious products often called pozzolan stabilized mixtures. The developed mixture must possess adequate strength and durability, should be easily compacted, and most importantly should be economical and environmentally fri...

Reuse of Boron Waste as an Additive in Road Base Material

The amount of boron waste increases year by year. There is an urgent demand to manage it in order to reduce the environmental impact. In this paper, boron waste was reused as an additive in road base material. Lime and cement were employed to stabilize the waste mixture. Mechanical performances of stabilized mixture were evaluated by experimental methods. A compaction test, an unconfined compre...

Suitability of Flyash-Lime-Phosphogypsum Composite in Road Pavements

The paper presents the suitability of flyash-limephosphogypsum composite for its use in road pavements. The content of lime and phosphogypsum was varied from 2 to 10% and 0.5 to 4% respectively in flyash. The specimen prepared was cured for 7, 28, 56 and 90 days with burlap method of curing. Compaction tests were conducted on different flyash-lime-phosphogypsum composite and these results were ...

Preliminary Analysis of Red Mud Spill Based on Aerial Imagery

One of the largest industrial spills in Europe occurred in the village of Kolontár (Hungary) on October 4, 2010. The primary objective of the hyperspectral remote sensing mission was to monitor that is necessary in order to estimate the environmental damage, the precise size of the polluted area, the rating of substance concentration in the mud, and the overall condition of the flooded district...
